Coach House
Extension and conversion of Kent Coach House split across four levels in Snodland - Under Construction
Our Brief was to address the layout of an existing house with lots of character but was split across four levels and lacked individuality inside.
The first task was to rationalise the three current rear extensions, all of a different scale, appearance and material. To do this a single extension was formed in their place which was designed to highlight the original structure instead of trying to imitate its craftmanship and detract from the focal point of the site.
Despite its size, due to the arrangement of the house, there were only two bedrooms. To address this we converted the loft and created a master suite to reclaim valuable space. As a result, the Coach House is an example of a 'top-to-bottom' approach, addressing every level of the house to improve the arrangement and ensure it continues to provide for the owner and their growing family.
