Located in a prestigious and highly visible position in Sevenoaks, within the Granville Road and Eardley Road Conservation Area, this project demonstrates a thoughtful approach to change in a sensitive context.

The brief was to rationalise the house by removing a series of unsympathetic rear and side additions and replacing them with a cohesive wrap-around extension that enhances both the building and its setting. The design establishes a clear hierarchy, with the new elements stepping down from the original house and using high-quality materials that sit comfortably alongside the historic fabric.

Particular care was taken to address visibility from surrounding streets and the wider conservation area, ensuring the proposal enhances local character rather than competing with it.

Planning permission was successfully secured, underlining the importance of a clear design rationale and a robust heritage-led approach.
